Sgt. Calvin Bernard Harrison, 31, an Army medic in the Special Forces was killed in an insurgent attack in Afghanistan. His mother Betty Harrison said he was a devoted soldier and loving father not to mention a great son.
Calvin graduated from Coldspring High School in 1998, and then joined the Army to serve his country and see the world. This was his second tour in Afghanistan and her served a tour in Iraq as well.. Calvin has two daughters age 7 and 9 who live at Fort Bragg with their mother.
His father Jack Washington said he received a text message from his son two days ago and it ended with his usual,”Iove you.”\
The family is still awaiting details on when Calvin Harrison will be returned to Texas for a funeral.
