CONROE FATAL AUTO PEDESTRIAN CRASH

At 1 minute after midnight MCHD received a call for an auto pedestrian crash at SH 105 West and Loop 336. Units responded and arrived at 12:06 a.m. They determined a male victim was deceased on the scene. According to Sgt. Robert Engel with the Conroe Police Department, the BMW was eastbound on SH 105 at Loop 336. An area of roadway with no illumination. As the driver approached the intersection he spotted a white male walking across the lanes northbound. The driver who had left his daughter’s wedding did not have time to apply the brakes and struck the pedestrian. The driver, who was quite distraught was not injured. The driver showed no signs of impairment. Montgomery County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the male victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy and identification. SH 105 eastbound remained closed until 4 a.m. No charges are being filed since the pedestrian failed to yield right of way to traffic.
