Conroe Man Arrested for Five Counts of Possession/Promotion of Child Pornography

MONTGOMERY COUNTY. TX– On July 31, 2025, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a residence in Conroe, Texas. The operation was conducted with support from the Texas Highway Patrol, Montgomery County Constable’s Offices Precincts 1, 2, 4, and 5, as well as the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce.

The investigation identified Kody James O’Keefe, 28, of Conroe, as the primary suspect. O’Keefe was taken into custody at the scene and charged with five counts of Possession/Promotion of Child Pornography, a first-degree felony. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Further investigation determined that O’Keefe had utilized multiple social media accounts to download and upload Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

This case is part of DPS’s ongoing effort to protect children and pursue individuals who exploit or attempt to harm them. DPS is a committed member of the Montgomery County ICAC Taskforce, operating in coordination with the Houston Metro ICAC Taskforce.
