Conroe Officer Takes “To Serve and Protect” to Next Level

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Wednesday, Conroe Police officers received a stolen vehicle alert. Officers quickly located the vehicle, initiated a traffic stop, and arrested the suspect.  Officers contacted the owner, Kayla Mitchell, who then went to the scene to retrieve her vehicle. When Mitchell arrived, she realized the suspect had removed and discarded her three child-safety seats.
Officers on-scene were then aware the car seats were missing. Someone with CPD donated one car seat, and they contacted Ms. Mitchell to pick it up from the station. However, that left two car seats missing. Not only is it dangerous to transport children without a child safety seat, it’s illegal under Texas law.
Conroe Police Officer Scott Straubel took it upon himself to purchase two additional child safety seats using his own money. Mitchell was reportedly overwhelmed when she went to CPD to pick up one child safety seat and instead received three!
The Conroe Police Officers Association decided to repay Officer Straubel, but when he generously took the initiative and purchased the mandatory items, he had no reason to think he would be compensated with anything besides the victim’s gratitude.
Editor’s note: Every day, the mainstream media seems to have more awful stories about law enforcement, as they increasingly give a voice to those who hate the police. Not so long ago, the media at least attempted to give the appearance of being “fair and balanced”. The general public expected it – they DEMANDED it. Those days are gone, and anyone who believes otherwise isn’t paying attention or isn’t too bright. These days, stories that don’t fit the narrative or agenda of the gun-grabbing cop-hating MSM almost never see the light of day. Montgomery County Police Reporter is one of a select few media outlets that supports law enforcement, patriotism, and conservative values. We applaud Officer Straubel’s actions on that day, and every day he chooses to wear a uniform and stand in the gap between good and evil, despite increasing condemnation of that sacrifice.
