Local law enforcement recently located sexual assault victims on social media and took action. Conroe PD Officer, Jeff Nichols, and Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1 Deputy, Jerry Serrat are assigned to the MCDA ICAC Division as a task force member. The MCDA ICAC Division is an affiliate of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force. Nichols received information that nude photos of a juvenile female were being posted on the social networking site “Instagram” and began an investigation. ICAC Investigators were able to discover the source of the nude photo and checked other social websites of potential suspects. On these social media websites and other items searched, officers located two child victims who were ages 12 and 13 at the time of the sexual assault. It is not believed that force was used in these cases. Victims of sexual assault cannot legally consent to sex acts at these ages. As a result of the investigations into these individuals, Nichols was able to secure two arrest warrants for aggravated sexual assault of a child against Correy Lee Warren (DOB 12.13.84) and Devin Wadell Edwood Grow (DOB 12.20.84). Grow is currently a suspect in another juvenile sex assault case from 2012. Please keep in mind that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
We believe that there may be other juvenile victims in the area as a result of a review of these suspect’s social media accounts. The MCDA ICAC Division is seeking the public’s assistance with locating any other victims. The MCDA ICAC Division reminds parents that it is critical to monitor your child’s internet access to ensure that they are not being contacted by predators lurking on the internet, especially at this time of year as children may be on school vacations.
