At 9:10p.m. last night Conroe Police were dispatched to a reported hit and run auto pedestrian accident in the 700 block of South Frazier.
On their arrival they found 36-year-old Antonio Cornelius with a severe head injury lying in the parking lot of an business.
EMS and Conroe Fire responded to the scene. Due to his condition it was determined he be transported by ground ambulance to Hermann Hospital at the Texas Medical Center. As of 11p.m. last night he remains there in critical condition.
After further investigation it was determined that 24-year-old Megan Nix was southbound in the right lane on Frazier in her 2003 Pontiac Sunfire when she struck Cornelius who was walking northbound in the area of the white fog line.
Nix knew she hit something but did not stop until the corner which is approximately 100 yards from the scene. She immediately returned to the scene. Conroe Police performed a field sobriety test on her and it was determined she was in no way impaired.
According to Conroe police Cornelius who is from Mexico is visiting friends in the Conroe area. As of yet they have been unable to locate any family in Mexico.
Nix was uninjured, her vehicle had some body damage but was still drivable.
