MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- On Thursday, June 5, 2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m., Conroe Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of N. San Jacinto Street for an active domestic disturbance involving an armed suspect. Reports indicated the suspect had seriously assaulted family members and was barricaded inside with weapons.
Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and safely evacuated the victims. The suspect refused commands to surrender, prompting the response of the Conroe Police SWAT Team. After a prolonged standoff and efforts to negotiate for a peaceful surrender, SWAT deployed CS gas. The suspect resisted all efforts by officers and escalated his behavior. When SWAT entered the home, the armed suspect confronted them, and officers, fearing for their safety, discharged a duty weapon, striking the suspect once.
Life-saving measures were immediately initiated. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and is in critical but stable condition. The previously injured family members received medical care and are now safe.
This incident remains under active investigation by Conroe Police Criminal
Investigations and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. No names are being released at this time. Chief Buckholtz extends thoughts and prayers to those impacted by this event.
