UPDATED-725PM–At 12:06 pm Friday, October 25, 2013, Conroe Police officers were dispatched to 229 N. IH-45 at the Stone Ridge Apartments in Conroe for a reported Disturbance With Weapons call. Officers arrived and found a gray 2012 Hyundai sedan in the apartment complex parking lot that had sustained two (2) apparent gunshots; one in the lower center windshield and one in the hood. Upon interviewing persons on location it was discovered that the incident stemmed from an apparent ongoing dispute between a man and woman (boyfriend/girlfriend) over child visitation involving their child. This incident seems to be a continuance of a disturbance which occurred last night in a different area of town. The man was reportedly coming to the apartments to pick-up the child for visitation and, because of the previous confrontation the night before, brought friends with him as back-up. A disturbance once again ensued and friends of the woman allegedly produced a firearm and began chasing the man and one of his friends through the parking lot. During the melee it is reported that one of the pursuers fired two rounds into the car, containing three (3) people, one being a 2-year old child. No one was injured. Officers recovered shell casings and other evidence at the scene. At this time the shooting is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.
