Considerate criminal leaves business card

SOUTH MONTGOMERY COUNTY – A San Jacinto County resident and illegal alien was arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in The Woodlands on Thursday for attempted sexual assault.

Arnolus Bullis Snel, 47, of Shepherd was charged with attempted sexual assault and a hold has been placed on him by the US Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Deputies were dispatched to a residence where a 49-year-old woman said Snel arrived at her home around 9:30 a.m., under the guise of looking for work. She said Snel had previously performed jobs at her home and told her he was in the area handing out business cards.

The victim said she allowed Snel inside and when she turned away, he grabbed her, lifting her off the ground and tried to drag her into a bedroom while stating that he was going to have sex with her. She screamed and fought back, somehow managing to thwart the assault. According to the MCSO, the victim was not injured.

Snel fled and the victim called 911. Deputies easily contacted Snel, since he left behind a business card with his phone number on it. After a discussion with deputies, Snel surrendered at the MCSO substation in The Woodlands.
Public Data shows no prior record for Snel using that name, nor a driver’s license.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
