MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- After five years on the run, a former South Montgomery County daycare teacher is finally behind bars, thanks to Precinct 3 Ryan Gable’s Criminal Interdiction Unit.
In 2018, Tesla Caceres worked as a teacher at Childtime Daycare in South Montgomery County. An investigation was launched following allegations that Caceres assaulted a 3-year-old child while working at the facility. Evidence allegedly supported the allegations, and an arrest warrant was issued for Caceres in September of that year. However, by the time the warrant was issued, Caceres had vanished from the area and detectives were unable to locate her.
Earlier this month, detectives received an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of the fugitive. The tip led law enforcement to downtown Houston where they found and arrested Caceres, who was then transported to Conroe and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Tesla Elizabeth Caceres, 27, of Houston is charged with third-degree felony Injury to a Child/Elderly/Disabled person. Her bond is set at $10,000.
