No Driver’s License, No insurance & poor judgment!

Around 11:40 p.m. on May 5, Constable Hayden stopped a vehicle in the area of Hwy 59 and Fostoria Rd. The Constable found the driver, 37-year-old Brandi Lee Carlile of Conroe, had no driver’s license or insurance. As per policy, Carlile’s vehicle was about to be towed, but her suspicious behavior and refusal to allow him to search her vehicle also led the Constable to call for Deputy Bergland and his K-9 partner, Cliff.
During an open air search around the vehicle, K-9 Cliff gave a positive odor response on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed the presence of Methamphetamine. Carlile was charged with state jail felony possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The “Out of Towners”

A routine traffic stop on FM 1485 E. near Doriston led to the arrest of 28-year-old Ashley Jo Malone of Houston and Luke Brownlee Griggs, 22, of Austin. Deputy Bergland stopped Malone’s vehicle around 2 a.m. on May 7 and while speaking with her, noticed Griggs in the backseat attempting to conceal something which turned out to be methamphetamine. Malone had marijuana on her person. Griggs was charged with state jail felony possession of a controlled substance and Malone was charged with possession of marijuana. The front seat passenger was released.

Buzzard was gone, Baby was holding

Constable Hayden arrested Jason Wayne “Baby” Briles, 21, of Houston on May 9 while trying to locate Pct. 4 fugitive Johnny Lee “Buzzard” Walley, Jr.* who made news last year when he unleashed a Pit Bull Terrier on an officer. The “Buzzard” was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant; felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); and hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon. He later posted bond and was released, but failed to appear in court as scheduled. Briles found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong contraband when Hayden noticed an expired inspection sticker on Briles’ vehicle and then discovered he was in possession of marijuana.
