Montgomery County Constable Pct. 4 Deputies served 31 civil papers with 16 evictions and 3 writs throughout East Montgomery County. Numerous suspects were arrested, clearing 10 JP4 warrants, 2 Montgomery County warrants, and 1 Wood County Warrant.
No Driver’s License, No Insurance, No Way!
4 vehicles were towed in Precinct 4 last week because drivers had no license and/or no insurance, 8 were towed because the drivers were arrested and 1 was a towed because of an accident.

A rolling pharmacy
Just before 2 a.m. on November 12, Deputy J. Bergland conducted a routine traffic stop that resulted in multiple felony drug charges. Deputy Bergland stopped a rented Toyota Corolla in the northbound main lanes of US 59 near Fostoria, where he found three very nervous Louisiana residents inside with conflicting stories, and an odor of burnt marijuana. The occupants, which included a female driver, a male passenger and a female passenger, refused to give Deputy Bergland consent to search the vehicle. Pct. 4 Deputy J. Chapa and K-9 Porter responded to the scene where the narcotics detecting K-9 gave a positive odor response on the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed over 3,000 pills including Hydrocodone, Xanax, and Ecstasy, along with two bottles of Promethazine /Codeine syrup, two loaded handguns, and over $1,000 cash. Kenya Leartis Bolton, of Bernice, Louisiana; Allison Denice Pickett, 22, of Monroe, Louisiana; and LaGregory Deonta Sapp, 23 of Monroe, Louisiana are each charged with three counts of Aggravated Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, which is a first-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000 per charge for each suspect.

Child safety not a priority
Deputies got more than they bargained for on November 10, around 2 a.m., when they went to a residence at 20266 Redbud Lane in New Caney to serve a felony warrant on 40-year-old Susan Jane Applegate. Another subject allowed deputies to enter the residence where they found a smoking pipe in plain view with methamphetamine residue inside and in close proximity to a 1-year-old boy. Marc Anthony Bane, 33, of New Caney is charged with Endangering a Child (state jail felony) and state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. Ashley Nicole Applegate, 23, of New Caney is charged with state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Endangering a Child (state jail felony). Susan Jane Applegate, 40, of New Caney was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Forgery of a Financial Instrument in Wood County.

Burning more than wood…
Around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Deputy E. Rivera was patrolling Loop 494 near Kingwood Drive when he saw two men sitting in lawn chairs beside a pickup containing firewood they were selling. Their mobile enterprise was setup just a few yards from a TxDOT sign that read “No Parking on State Highway.” Deputy Rivera stopped to discuss their location and noticed a strong odor of marijuana, which led the deputy to request consent to search the vehicle where he found methamphetamine and Xanax. Michael Allen Gilson, 33, of New Caney is charged with third-degree felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Poor Judgment = serious consequences
· Around midnight on November 12, Deputy K. Sapp was patrolling the area of Hwy 59 and FM 1485 when he stopped two vehicles for obscured license plates and found marijuana in both vehicles. In one case, a passenger attempted to hide the contraband and faces an additional charge as a result. Gylan Ray Alexander Poindexter, 22, a transient, is charged with Tampering with Evidence (a third-degree felony) and Possession of marijuana. Maurice Cordea Dais, 24, of Houston is charged with Unlawful Carrying a Weapon; Driving While License Invalid; and Possession of Marijuana. Tacorey Rashawne Pree-Black, 29, a transient, is charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Deputy R. Ford responded to a disturbance in progress at Bill’s 3G Trailer Park on FM 1485 in New Caney where he found an intoxicated male outside in the rain, having difficulty standing. When asked why he was outside in the rain at that hour, the man told Deputy Ford he was involved in an argument with another man regarding a power cord a short time earlier. Richard Dean Steinecke II, 21, of New Caney is charged with Public Intoxication.

On November 9, around 11 p.m., Deputy J. Chapa stopped a speeding vehicle on Hwy 59 in the Splendora area. Several factors led to the deputy’s request for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted by the driver, who then requested permission to urinate on the roadside. Inside the vehicle, Deputy Chapa found a small clear plastic bag containing marijuana. Lugine Jones, 20, of Pearland is charged with Possession of Marijuana.
On November 13, around 6:30 p.m., Cpl. A. Looza responded to a welfare check at the intersection of Hwy 59 and FM 1485 where he found a man asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle. Cpl. Looza woke the subject and learned he was under the influence of pain medication. David Wayne Ray, 45, of New Caney is charged with Public Intoxication.
Just before 7 p.m. on November 10, Deputy E. Rivera stopped to assist a stranded motorist on the southbound main lanes of Hwy 59 near W. Martin Dr. in Porter, where he found the man had run out of gas, but had ingested plenty of alcohol prior to getting behind the wheel. Jon Timothy Harmon, 49, of Houston is charged with Public Intoxication.

On November 10, around 6 p.m., Pct. 4 deputies went to a residence at 24223 Sorters Rd. in Porter to investigate reports of illegal drug activity. After receiving consent to search the residence and property, they found a pot plant that was, ironically, a “pot” or marijuana plant. James Stuart McCorkle, 46, of Porter is charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Four people were arrested last weekend for Sale of Alcohol to a Minor in a sting operation conducted by the Pct. 4 Constable’s Office and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
