CONtractor Took Elderly Woman for Thousand$ then Vanished

HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On October 21, deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a residence in the 18100 block of Billabong Crescent Court in reference to a reported theft.

Upon arrival, deputies met with an elderly female victim who said in August, she paid 32-year-old Nikolas Diaz-Marquez to replace her home’s roof. Diaz-Marquez reportedly collected a $7,000 check, deposited it into his bank account, and then she says he never returned to complete the work. Deputies contacted Diaz-Marquez, who admitted he deposited the check and never went back to finish the job.

“This suspect took advantage of an elderly victim’s trust and hard-earned money. Crimes like this will not be tolerated in our community,” Constable Mark Herman said.

Nikolas Diaz-Marquez is currently wanted for Felony Aggregate Theft from an Elderly Person. If you have any information on his whereabouts, you are urged to contact Constable Mark Herman’s Office Dispatch or your local law enforcement agency immediately.
