Cops say accused kiddie porn collector caught red handed

CONROE – A South Montgomery County man will stand trial for over a dozen felony charges.

Joseph Edward Rippley, 21, of The Woodlands, was re-indicted by a Montgomery County Grand Jury last Thursday on 17 counts of possession of child pornography, which is a third-degree felony.

Each count begins by stating that the defendant (Rippley) “on or about October 3, 2007…intentionally or knowingly possess visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit…” The last part of the charge describes the specific pornographic depiction for which he is charged.

Counts 1, 8, 9, 11, 12, and 16 state Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: actual sexual intercourse.”

Counts 2, 3, and 17 state Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: lewd exhibition of the genitals.”

Count 4 states Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: sexual contact.”

Count 5 states Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: sexual bestiality and/or sado-masochistic abuse and/or sexual contact.”

Count 6 states Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: masturbation and/or actual sexual intercourse.”

Count 7 and 10 state Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: deviate sexual intercourse and/or sexual contact.”

Count 13, 14, and 15 state Rippley possessed “visual material that visually depicted, and which the defendant knew visually depicted a child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the image of the child was made, engaging in sexual conduct, to wit: deviate sexual intercourse.”

Accessible police records show no criminal history for Rippley.
