Cops Say Door to Door Sales Went Terribly Wrong at Repeat Offender’s Door

HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Trying to make a living turned into a nightmare Wednesday for a woman doing door to door sales. Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 2800 block of Trailing Vine Rd. where a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a suspect identified as 42-year-old Aloysius Gardner.

The woman was working as a door-to-door salesperson when investigators say she knocked on Gardner’s door and was invited inside. The woman says she went into the apartment willingly, trying to make a sale, and was then sexually assaulted and Garnder wouldn’t allow her to leave.

Gardner is not listed on the Texas Sex Offender Registry, but Public Data shows a very long list of arrests and convictions / guilty pleas. In 2022, Gardner pleaded guilty to felony endangering a child and Aggravated Assault. His prior convictions include Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Assault Causes Bodily Injury / Family Member, Burglary of a Habitation, Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, felony Violation of a Protection Order, Violation of a Protective Order Enhanced, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Forgery, and Evading Arrest / Detention, Trespassing,

“Aloysius Gardner was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Indecent Sexual Assault and Unlawful Restraint. He is awaiting bail out of County Court 4,” Constable Mark Herman said.
