MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX- Just before 10 p.m. Saturday, Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a three-vehicle major accident on FM 2090 near Carol Lane in Splendora. According to Splendora Police and Texas Department of Public Safety, a red Chevy pickup was eastbound on FM 2090 when a westbound black Chevy pickup, whose driver was allegedly intoxicated, crossed the center line, clipping the front of the red pickup and sending it out of control, off of the roadway and into the tree line.
The black pickup, with the alleged drunk driver, continued westbound and then collided head-on with an eastbound silver Chevy pickup.
All three Chevy pickups sustained major damage, but amazingly, nobody was killed. The driver of the westbound black pickup that struck the other two was asked to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and law enforcement determined he was intoxicated. He was arrested on the scene.
Five other people were involved in the crash as drivers or passengers, and three were transported by MCHD ambulance to area hospitals.
