Cops Say Drunk Struck Patrol Vehicle on I-45

HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, two Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 22500 block of the I-45 Service Road when a driver struck the rear of the marked patrol vehicle.

Deputies say the driver, 39-year-old Joshua Hines, displayed multiple signs of intoxication. However, because Hines was injured in the crash, Deputies couldn’t conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Hines was transported to a local hospital.

Deputies subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant for a blood specimen from Hines.

The two Deputies were also transported to a local hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash. They were both later released and are on the road to a full recovery.

“Joshua Hines was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Intoxication Assault. His bond and court information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
