HARRIS COUNTY, TX- On Thursday Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the1400 block of Spring Cypress Road in reference to a vehicle driving recklessly, almost striking multiple vehicles. Deputies found the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Joshua Benitez, who displayed multiple signs of intoxication.
A series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, and it was determined Benitez was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.169, which is over twice the legal limit under Texas law. Benitez also had a loaded gun.
“Joshua Benitez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. His total bond was set at $200 out of County Court 14,” Constable Mark Herman said.
