Cops Say Morgan Methed Up!

LIBERTY COUNTY, TX- On October 28, around 3:50 p.m. Cleveland Police Officer Brown was patrolling the 400 block of Belcher Street, when he saw a 1995 white Chevy Pickup had the wrong registration. The pickup also had no front license plate.

Officer Brown initiated a traffic stop on the pickup in the 900 Block of N. Washington Ave. Officer Brown approached and identified the driver as Dakota Morgan.  Officer Brown said Morgan, who seemed very nervous, was immediately placed in custody for displaying the wrong registration.

During an inventory of the pickup, Officer Brown found a sunglasses holder containing a clear plastic bag holding 0.52 grams of methamphetamine and a syringe, between the center seat and the front right passenger seat.

Dakota Ray Morgan, 36, of Cleveland, is charged with state jail felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram. Morgan was transported and booked into the Cleveland Police Department Jail. Judge Ralph Fuller set Morgan’s bond at $10,000. He was released on bond the following day.
