HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Early Friday, Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to a possible in-progress theft call, in the 5200 block of Castlebury Meadows Drive. The caller said a man was taking appliances from a residence under construction.
Deputies quickly arrived and saw the suspect with the stolen appliances in the back of a pickup. They initiated a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, leading Deputies on a brief pursuit. The vehicle then crashed at a nearby park, and the driver ran away. Deputies chased and caught him. The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Robert Britton.
Further investigation revealed Britton allegedly broke into two homes and stole multiple appliances. He also caused extensive damage. The stolen property was valued at $17,500. The stolen property was recovered and returned to the construction company. Deputies also found the vehicle Britton was driving had been reported stolen.
“Robert Britton was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle, Felony Theft, and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. His court and bond information have not been set at this time,” Constable Mark Herman said.
