Just after noon this Wednesday, a Montgomery County Precinct 3 dump truck was westbound on Rayford Road at Imperial Oaks when a crash occurred. The driver reported he had glanced down for a moment, only to look back up and find that traffic in front of him was stopped. The driver jerked the steering wheel to the right, side swiping a vehicle that was pushed forward and struck a third automobile. Two occupied vehicles in the Ace Hardware parking lot were also hit as the dump truck rolled over. A female driver who was southbound on Imperial Oaks heard the crash and looked up in time to see the dump truck strike her.
All occupants were transported to St. Lukes and Memorial Hermann Woodlands Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
According to DPS the driver of the dump truck identified as Otis Ray Mitchell, who was not wearing a seat belt was lucky to be alive.
DOT hopefully had a field day writing tickets to the driver. Sad because when these people go after the County WE will have to pay for the lawsuit. Hopefully everyone sent to the hospital will not have any life altering complications from this accident.
wow!,look at those slick tires montgomery county is running on this pct. 3 dump truck.
