CPD Officers Recovered Money, Marijuana, and a Gun

Last Sunday  morning around 3:26 a.m. the Cleveland Police Department stopped a 1997 Mercury Marquis, Tan in color, 4 door, and arrested a Adaralyn Bernard Wyatt, age 22, of Cleveland.

According to C.P.D. Officers Justin Edwards, and Sgt. David Edwards they had been dispatched to the area of the 800 block of U.S. Highway 59 in reference to a suspected vehicle matching the description of a vehicle possibly involved in a disturbance, and the discharge of a firearm at a party in the Shepherd area. While officers were enroute to check the area of U.S. Highway 59 they located a Tan in color 1997 Mercury that fit the given description pulling in to the Walgreens Pharmacy parking lot at the corner of Washington and Houston Street. Officers stated, the driver later identified as Wyatt quickly drove in, and parked illegally in a handicap parking space. Wyatt was seen exiting his vehicle going inside of Walgreens, but Wyatt was detained by officers once inside the business. Officers immediately escorted Wyatt back out to the parking lot where his car was parked.

Officers said, they noticed through the window of Wyatt’s vehicle an unfired bullet in the front passenger seat area. Officers searched Wyatt’s vehicle, and found: a clear plastic baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be Marijuana, a handgun described as .38 caliber revolver, and two large bundles of currency inside the glove box. Officers also recovered at the scene a plastic baggie containing several small white in color pills, but could not link them to Wyatt at the time. Wyatt advised authorities, “that he was at the party in Shepherd”, but denied “being involved in any shooting”.

Cleveland Police Department was later informed by San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Department that

the shooting incident was still under investigation. No one has reported been physically shot, or injured according to San Jacinto County Deputies.

Officers arrested Wyatt and transported him to the Cleveland Police Department’s jail where he was charged with: 1) Possession of Marijuana class (B) misdemeanor, bond was set at $3,500

2) Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Firearm) class (A) misdemeanor, bond

set at $10,000

Wyatt was able to post his bail, and was later released on a surety bond.
