330am-An 18-wheeler was southbound on US 59 at the Liberty County/ Montgomery County line in intense rain. The truck jack-knifed causing it to travel across the northbound main lanes and into the ditch. One fuel tank ruptured spilling at least 50-gallons of fuel. The truck came to rest just 10-feet from the East Fork San Jacinto River Bridge. THe driver was uninjured. Hazmat crews are on the scene removing fuel. Saddle Creek Towing and Valentin Towing are then going to bring the truck back onto the roadway. There will be periods of time when all lanes of the freeway and feeder will be closed during the operation. Currently the left shoulder of the freeway is open. The feeder northbound is closed.
