A major accident closed Rayford Road at Lazy Lane, just east of the railroad tracks. DPS Trooper Ortega is still investigating exactly what happened. The Tahoe was struck almost head on by Raul Roman, age 33 of Spring.
The details are still under investigation, The driver of the Tahoe, Robert Cobb, age 40, of Spring was transported along with his wife and one other passenger in stable condition.
There were a total of eight people in the Tahoe at the time of the crash. The others had minor injuries and wee not required to be transported.
Raul Roman was transported to the hospital and later to the Montgomery County Jail. He is charged with Intoxicated Assault With a Motor Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury. His bond is set at $60,000. In addition an Immigration hold has been placed on him.
Several Montgomery County Hospital District ambulances were dispatched to the scene along with South Montgomery County Fire Department and Precinct 3 Constables.
