The fifth crash of the month on Old Houston Road sent one woman to the hospital in critical condition Saturday morning. The female driver was going south on Old Houston Road in a 2002 Mercury at a high rate of speed when she came off the road at Stevenson. She overcorrected and on the wet roads slid across the northbound lanes into the path of a Dodge 3500 pickup. The impact ripped the vehicle in two. Bystanders were able to get the female out of the vehicle before first responders arrived. She was taken to Memorial Hermann Woodlands in critical condition. Old Houston Road was reopened at 8:30 am. Texan Towing removed the Dodge truck from the scene and Get R Done towing removed the Mercury. DPS investigated the crash.
