CRASHES PUT I-69 AT A CRAWL IN SPLENDORA

About 3:30 pm Wednesday afternoon a white Chevrolet pickup was southbound on I-69 near the SH 242 exit when the driver made an evasive maneuver. That caused him to strike a Nissan. A black pickup which was also southbound swerved to avoid a crash and was hit by an 18-wheeler loaded with utility poles and treated lumber. The collision put the pickup into the other two crashed vehicles. The 18-wheeler hit the concrete barrier.  Three people were transported in stable condition to Kingwood Hospital. Patton Village Police investigated the crash. Only a right shoulder was open resulting in a major backup. Masters Environmental was tasked with cleaning up the late oil spill from the 18-wheeler. Saddle Creek Towing removed the truck from the scene.
