5 PM-Crockett Martin should open shortly as the crash has now cleared. Just before 3 pm, Caney Creek Fire was dispatched to a reported head-on crash between a dump truck and a passenger car. Units arrived on the scene to find a Chevrolet passenger car with the driver’s door almost ripped off. The female driver was trapped for a short time but suffered minor injuries. Her child in the back seat was not injured. The dump truck driver was injured when he hit the steering wheel. The truck was northbound and the passenger car was southbound. As the passenger car came around the curve at White Rock she crossed the center line according to a witness. The dump truck slammed into her left side putting the car into a spin. The truck continued down the road another 200 feet and crashed into a tree. If the tree had not been there the truck would have most likely slammed into the home at that location. DPS is investigating the crash with the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
