On the date of Thursday, May 10th 2018, Investigators with the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation stemming from official law enforcement sensitive information released by a current Jailer. The information was released to a former Jailer previously employed by the Sheriff’s Office, who are current roommates, regarding confidential information pertaining to an informant of an active criminal investigation.
Additional information was disseminated pertaining to a tactical operation by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies on the evening prior to the operation being executed. The informant’s identity, along with the law enforcement sensitive information, was provided to a suspect of the above-mentioned investigation conducted by the Montgomery County Auto Theft Taskforce.
Kaylee Elizabeth Dover, 24, of Navasota was arrested for the offense of Misusing Official Information, a 3rd Degree Felony. Dover was a current employee of the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office at the time of this arrest.
Chelsea Ann Bailey, 25, of Plantersville was also arrested for the offense of Misusing Official Information, a 3rd Degree Felony. Bailey is a former employee of the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office at the time of this offense.
If convicted, Misuse Official Information is a 3rd Degree Felony punishable by 2 to 10 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a fine not exceed $10,000.
