Of the three remaining “death row dogs” featured this morning, only one got a home, but that’s not the end of the story. Due to either some confusion somewhere in the flow of information, or a change in normal procedure, the two remaining pups now have until 5 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) when they’ll be euthanized if they don’t have a new home.
Adoption fees are waived, because nobody wants them to be put down, but MCAS business hours tomorrow are the absolute end of their time on earth if new humans don’t step up and give them new homes.
As previously stated, these innocent dogs have been at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter as long as they can stay without finding a home. They’re wonderful dogs, but so many people are being irresponsible and / or just bad humans, there are too many homeless dogs.
There were four, but one found a home Saturday and one found a home Tuesday. Two boy doggos remain, Roan and Woodson. Volunteers are praying someone will save these pups from death.

Roan has been waiting 286 days for a home! He loves toys, knows basic commands, and enjoys being outside. He’s been paired with other dogs but needs proper introductions. Roan has some handling sensitivities—he has attempted to bite when leashing/unleashing and has growled or thrashed during medical workups and nail trims. He needs patient, understanding people to help him build trust.
