Early Sunday evening Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office got a call for a lost hunter. They were able to ping his phone in far east Montgomery County. It was determined he had been hunting on the Enloe Lease in Liberty County. His wife reported that he did have medical issues. Liberty County was notified as were the Texas Game Wardens and Plum Grove Fire Department. The area is the same area that Dennis Rogers vanished several years ago. Montgomery County Units also responded to the area. Within an hour the man was located along with his 6-point buck. He told crews he had been hunting and shot a buck just before dark. While he tracked the deer it got dark and he lost his way. Officials say it was a good thing he had a fully charged cell phone.
