HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Last night, around 2 a.m., Deputies with Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman’s office responded to the 100 block of E Richey Road in reference to a welfare check where a mother, child and dog were in a vehicle for approximately 3 hours asleep with the vehicle turned off and no air conditioning.
The child was found in the backseat sweating profusely and the dog was hyperventilating.
The mother was arrested for child endangerment and cruelty to an animal. The child was released to a family member after she was evaluated by EMS.
