At about 1:15 am, a suspected drunk driver, Leslie King, AGE 51, struck a patrol car occupied by Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Orrson & Soliz on I-45 southbound feeder at the entrance ramp south of FM 1960. At the time, the freeway was closed as investigators were investigating an earlier auto-pedestrian fatal crash. The unit had been blocking the entrance ramp with the emergency equipment activated when they were struck as she attempted to enter the freeway. Both deputies were transported to a hospital out of precaution and have since been released. King was also transported due to minor pain and was admitted. King will be charged with DWI.
