DEPUTY ESCAPES CRASH WITH MINOR INJURIES

At 11:15 pm Friday night a Montgomery County Deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle heading north on North Mt. Miriah Road. The deputy got behind the vehicle but before he could activate his emergency equipment the driver of the Honda slammed his brakes on and swerved into the front yard of a residence. The deputy was forced to take evasive action and hit the wet shoulder of the road. His vehicle never made contact with the other vehicle. His patrol unit then slammed into a tree and flipped. The deputy was trapped for a short time but was assisted by passersby and arriving deputies. The deputy suffered very minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution. The male who was driving the Honda fled into the woods.  All Points Wrecker removed the patrol car and Extreme towing removed the vehicle from the resident of the home at the homeowner’s request.
