Reports from Lee County in the Community of Dime Box that a deputy has been shot. At about 10 pm Air Medical was requested for a deputy who had been shot. He was flown to Austin. His condition is unknown. Lee County is between Houston and Austin off US 290 north of Giddings. Earlier this evening deputies were in search of Raul Vega Perez, in the Dime Box Community. Perez had been seen about 6 pm leaving the area in a 1986 Black Chevrolet pickup. Perez has a warrant out of our agency for Failure to Appear/Sexual Assault of a Child and has priors for Murder and Sexual Assault. It is unknown at this time if he was involved in the incident.
