Many Woodlands residents wondered what was going on this morning with multiple fire trucks and ambulances lined up in front of Cynthia Woods Pavilion. Montgomery Hospital District along with Montgomery County Homeland Security used the facility to stage a mock stage collapse with over sixty victims. The drill was to test their readiness should a situation actually occur. Sixty volunteers participated in the event where stage components and concrete blocks were scattered across the stage. Woodlands, Conroe, South Montgomery County, North Montgomery County, and Timber LLakes Fire Departments also were involved. Montgomery County Judge Keough thanked the volunteers for their help. Shawn Simmons said they did learn a few things from the event which will help them better themselves in the future.
