Wednesday afternoon Conroe Deputy Police Chief Russell Reynolds decided to go to Hastings during his lunch to finish some Christmas shopping. As he was checking out he saw a male sprint out the front door with a 24” LED television under one arm and a Hastings shopping bag loaded with goodies in the other hand. Directly behind him were individuals the Chief knew as Loss Prevention employees.
Leaving his purchases he ran out the door in pursuit also.
He then witnessed the male who ran out the front jump into a Jeep and speed off across the parking lot.
Reynolds got in his vehicle in pursuit along with another patrol unit who was just down the street. They traveled north on Longmire to Loop 336 and then to Interstate 45 and into the Wal-mart parking lot. Running across the rear of the building to a Lowes access road leading back out to the feeder road.
The Jeep with several Conroe units close behind got on the freeway southbound to Crighton where they exited and turned into River Plantation. Additional units including Montgomery County Sheriff;s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constables along with DPS assisted as they went through River Plantation Subdivision. Exiting the rear f the subdivision onto Kidd Road and back into Magnolia Bend.
As the Jeep approached Bimbo Drive the driver spotted several units set up at the intersection with spikes and stopped the vehicle, surrendering without incident to officers..
Demi Rose Musgrove, 25 of 13425 Piglette in Conroe was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of evading arrest and organized retail theft. The property stolen was just over $700.
The male who fled out of the store with the merchandise is identified as Casey Justin, 24, of 11353 Albert Moorehead in Conroe. He is charged with organized retail theft.
