DOUBLE FATAL CRASH ON FM 3083

About 4:20 pm a Dodge Dart was southbound on FM 3083 between Jefferson Chemical and Exxon Road when the male driver attempted to pass a vehicle. As he did he struck a Toyota Titan that was northbound head-on. The driver of the Dart was transported in critical condition to Conroe Regional Hospital. He is now in stable condition. The male driver and female passenger both from Splendora that were in the Tacoma were entrapped. Caney Creek Fire and North Montgomery County FIre units worked close to 30-minutes in the extreme heat to free them. However, both were pronounced deceased at the scene. Justice of the Peace Spikes responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the deceased to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. The Montgomery County District Attorneys Office Vehicular Crimes Unit is assisting DPS in the investigation. TXDOT assisted in traffic control by closing the busy highway down. A Montgomery County Precinct 2 Deputy Constable was assisting traffic control at Jefferson Chemical and FM 3083 when a female motorist with a suspended driver’s license told deputies her flip flop got stuck on the gas pedal as she approached the intersection. She struck the Constable patrol car. Neither was injured. FM 3083 reopened at 7:30pm.
