DOUBLE FATAL CRASH ON FM1960 EAST

Saturday eveningĀ  a Montgomery County Hospital District Ambulance was returning after transporting a patient from the Splendora area to Houston Northwest Medical Center on FM 1960 West. When they approached the intersection of 1960 East and Millhouse which is between Aldine Westfield and Hardy they were met with a multi-vehicle crash that had just happened. Calling for additional help they determined one person was already dead and another very critical. Life Flight was dispatched to the scene as was Spring, Ponderosa and Aldine Fire Departments. Cypress Creek EMSD responded with multiple units.

Krista Pickett who saw the aftermath of the collision was picking her husband up at work when she heard the crash and saw vehicles spinning out of control. As she approached the scene to assist and had just called 911 she was amazed at the response time of EMS as they were already arriving on the scene.

Investigators say a red Toyota Matrix and a white Chevy pickup truck were both headed east and that the pickup was speeding.

It was going so fast, it rammed into the back of the Toyota and went airborne on impact.

The truck flew into a power pole, landed in a parking lot, and ejected the driver. Investigators say he died on impact.

As for the Matrix, two women were inside. The passenger was taken to Ben Taub in stable condition. The driver died on her way to Houston Northwest Hospital.

Investigators do not know why the truck was going so fast. They are unsure whether alcohol or drugs played a role.

Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office has not yet released the names of the victims.
