It appears from the way drug arrest are being made by Liberty County Sheriff Bobby Rader’s Criminal Interdiction Unit the month of March is starting out similar to February’s as two more drug operations have been shut down.
On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the Criminal Interdiction Unit stopped a blue Chevrolet Van from Nashville, Arkansas at approximately 11:30am in the 800 block of Hwy. 59 near Cleveland, Texas for defective brake lights. Upon making contact with the driver, Wayne Emmitt Hupp, Male, DOB 5-9-1966, Deputies could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Hupp admitted to Deputies the use of Marijuana which resulted in a search of the vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, Deputies located a new cardboard box that contained eleven (11) one pound bundles of Marijuana for a total of approximately eleven (11) pounds. Wayne Hupp was arrested and transported to the Liberty County jail where he was charged with “Possession of Marijuana” ( More than 5 lbs. but less than 50 lbs.) which is a 3rd. degree Felony.

The second drug arrest occurred on Friday, March 6, 2015 the Criminal Interdiction Unit initiated a traffic stop for speeding at approximately 6:15pm on a gold colored Chevrolet out of Van Buren, Arkansas traveling on U.S. 59 near the city of Cleveland, Texas. There were three occupants of the vehicle and each gave a different story as to where they were traveling which gave rise to suspicion that criminal activity was taking place.
Verbal approval was given by Timothy Nathaniel Freeman for Deputies to inspect the vehicle and at the same time, he told Deputies that he had a used Marijuana pipe in his backpack. A further search of the backpack was conducted and a large zip lock bag containing approximately 252 grams ( approx. 1200 tablets) of multicolored tablets suspected of being “Ecstasy” (Estasy) was found.
A further search of the vehicle was then conducted and a small package of a white powdery substance believed to be “cocaine” was located inside a second subject, Nataylia Deer’s wallet.
All three subjects were arrested and taken to the Liberty County jail where each was charged with “Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance” ( A first degree Felony). The subject Nataylia Deer was also charged with “Possession of a Controlled Substance” a State Jail Felony.

1) Timothy Nathaniel Freeman, Male, DOB 3-23-1994 of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
2) Jordan Dane Kennedy, Male, DOB 12-25-1994 of Hackett, Arkansas
3) Nataylia Fatima Mechelle Lynn Deer, Female, DOB 8-22-1995 of Van Buren, Arkansas. NOTE the additional charge on her.
