DOUBLE SHOOTING IN MONTGOMERY-UPDATE

PRESS RELEASE FROM LT. SPENCER -MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Just after midnight the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Waterstone Court, Montgomery, Texas. The 911 caller, Rachel Butler advised that her husband, Jason Butler had shot her in the chest and then shot himself in the head in the driveway of their residence.
Upon Deputies and Detectives arrival, they learned from Rachel Butler that the couple were at a high school reunion in Houston, Texas that evening. Sometime during the evening, a verbal altercation occurred between the couple that turned physical on the way home from the reunion. Once they arrived home, the altercation continued, at which time Jason Butler retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and then shot Rachel Butler one time in the chest. According to Rachel Butler, Jason Butler then shot himself in the head in the front driveway of the residence.
Rachel and Jason Butler, have two small children who did not witness the incident. Rachel Butler was transported to Conroe Regional Hospital where she is in stable, but serious condition. Jason Butler was transported to the Montgomery County Forensics Center pending autopsy.
