Last Saturday night Dennis Hollifield, 54, was traveling east on Midline Road on his bicycle. As he approached Lewis a black 1999 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Fernando Symonds was traveling westbound. According to Symonds and several witnesses, Symonds crossed over into the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle. That is when he struck Hollifield. Hollifield was pronounced deceased at the scene. DPS Investigators are asking for the publics help to identify the vehicle that Symonds passed. They would like to speak with anyone who may have seen it or to the driver of that vehicle. No laws were broken by that vehicle according to DPS, however, they are trying to close the case.
