Just after 7pm Thursday DPS, MCHD and Magnolia Fire Department was dispatched to a reported major accident in the northbound lanes of SH 249 at Vallie Lane. T.K. Ponder of Magnolia had been on a motorcycle was struck by a hit and run driver as he passed through the intersection. Ponder was transported to Tomball Regional Hospital with CPR in progress by EMS and two firefighters assisting enroute. Once at Tomball Hospital they continued to attempt to save T.K. was he was pronounced dead. His wife Jeanine said every evening she would get a text from her husband that he was on his way home from his job in Tomball. Thursday night she got that text but instead of him walking in the door, she got the call from Tomball Hospital. The driver of the pickup sped away at a high rate of speed south on SH 249. DPS is asking anyone who saw the crash or is able to identify the truck to contact the DPS office or Crime Stoppers. SH 249 was closed for over an hour as Troopers investigated the crash. Jeanine Ponder was looking forward to celebrating their third anniversary in just over 2 weeks. Now she must plan a funeral. The funeral will be Tuesday afternoon at Klein Funeral Home on FM 1488. Both Jeanine and T.K (Terry Kyle) as he was known to everyone had lived in the Magnolia area for over 20-years.
