A pursuit ensued just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, when a Waller County Precinct 2 Constables attempted to stop a 4-door KIA after he was clocked doing 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. The vehicle fled down Bower Road to FM 1488 then west to Prarie View. At Prarie View the driver made a u-turn at which time his female passenger Sandra Bishop,50, of Conroe either fell out of the vehicle, was thrown out or jumped on her own will. The vehicle which was traveling at approximately 80 mph at the time. The female was flown by PHI Air Medical in College Station where at this hour she is in stable condition.

The driver continued east on FM 1488 with DPS, Precinct 2 and the Waller County Sheriff’s Office close behind. Shortly after crossing into Montgomery County Magnolia Police Officer Diaz who was aware of the pursuit sat and waited at Wisteria Farms. When the KIA was insight Diaz deployed spikes. Seeing this the driver not just tried to brake but also to strike Diaz. Both failed and the vehicle picked up the spikes on the left front tire. The driver then lost control, crossed the westbound lanes and crashed into a barbed wire fence. A DPS Trooper close behind struck the KIA and then the fence heavily damaging the patrol car.

The Trooper was uninjured but the fleeing driver was taken to Tomball Hospital by Waller County EMS with minor injuries.

During the pursuit the driver of the vehicle was seen throwing several long guns out the window which law enforcement officials believe are from a burglary.

The driver was identified as David Wallis, a parole violator who had an open Blue Warrant for delivery. He also now faces evading charges and felon in possession of a firearm charges.

FM 1488 was reopened at approximately 1230pm.

If the driver had continued about 3 more miles east he would have been met by a wall and almost 30 police units as they were escorting the Vietnam Moving Wall to Magnolia.
