CONROE, TEXAS – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for the public’s help in locating James William Hammons Jr., 29, who allegedly fled the scene of a July 20 crash that ejected his 5-month-old son from the vehicle.
DPS has presented the case to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and has obtained warrants for Hammons arrest. The warrants are for child abandonment, driving while intoxicated child under 15 years of age, and felony failure to stop and render aid.
Anyone with information regarding Hammons should contact the Conroe East DPS Office, 936-442-2800. You can also contact the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers office, 1-800-392-7867, or montgomerycountycrimestoppers.org. You may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 if your tip leads to the felony arrest of Hammons.
How long has it been? Two Weeks? Why are they just now asking for the public’s help? They should have issued a wanted dead or alive request immediately!
