Just after 1am DPS was setting up radar on the side of Interstate 45 northbound just south of Willis. A vehicle passed them at well over 100mph and a chase ensued. DPS was able to stop the vehicle just north of Longstreet where a struggle ensuede between the trooper and the suspect. The suspect was shot once and transported to Hermann Woodlands in critical condition. He was later transferred to Hermann Medical Center by LIfe Flight.
DPS, Texas Rangers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are all working the investigation. More details as they are available.
