Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a three-vehicle fatality crash on Farm-to-Market 1488, east of Magnolia.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at approximately 6:31 p.m., a 2021 Honda Pilot was traveling south on Community Road. A 2007 General Motors (GMC) C1500 was traveling west on Farm-to-Market 1488 in the left lane. A 2015 Infiniti QX6 was traveling east on Farm-to-Market 1488 in the center turn lane, preparing to turn left onto Community Road. The driver of the Honda disregarded the stop sign, causing a collision with both the GMC and Infiniti.
The driver of the Honda, 38-year-old Daniel James Hathaway of Montgomery, Texas, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
The driver of the GMC, 26-year-old Rafael Martinez Valladares of Waller, Texas, was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Montgomery County Hospital District.
The driver of the Infiniti, 55-year-old Cindy Christine Beall of Magnolia, Texas, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital (The Woodlands) in stable condition.
