Just after 10am this morning North Montgomery Fire Department was dispatched to Old Danville Road at Highway 75 for an motorcycle accident. When they arrived on the scene they found a 1986 GMC pickup and a 2002 Honda Shadow. The motorcycle driver Robert Vandervoort of Conroe was in critical condition and PHI Air Medical was dispatched but disregarded when it was determined MCHD was going to transport him to Hermann Woodlands Hospital. While enroute they diverted to Conroe Regional.
Deputy Raven with Montgomery County Precinct 1 investigated the accident and determined from evidence on the scene and witness statements that Charles Averett was southbound on Highway 75 and was turning left into a private driveway. The motorcycle also southbound left thirty feet of skid marks before slamming into the rear of the pickup.
The pickup truck suffered minor damage to the rear. The motorcycle which was heavily damaged was removed from the scene by All Points Wrecker.
Vandervoort remains in Conroe Regional in critical condition.
