The driver of the Tahoe, which crashed into the bridge on FM 2090 on Tuesday evening, has been identified as Jonathan Burrell, 28, of Onalaska, Texas. The three small children suffered minor injuries.
Just before 5 pm, on Tuesday a Chevrolet Tahoe was eastbound on FM 2090 near Firetower Road. The driver stated he fell asleep at the wheel. He then struck the guardrail on the right, came across the westbound lanes, and struck the bridge over Spring Branch. The traveler was partially trapped in the vehicle. Three young unrestrained children, close to 5 years old, were injured, one with a possible broken arm. Caney Creek Fire arrived on the scene and was able to extricate the male. East Montgomery County Fire arrived to treat the children until three MCHD ambulances arrived. The driver was taken to Memorial Hermann Woodlands in critical condition, however, he was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann. The children were taken to Memorial Hermann Woodlands in stable condition. DPS investigated the crash.
