Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 1 met today with Jeff Yuna and Richard Ricks of Drone Systems International at Lake Conroe. With the passion for law enforcement both men have they decided to donate a DJI Phantom 4 drone to the Constables Office. Along with the donation, they will be training the Lake Patrol deputies in the use and assist in them getting their FAA license which is required by Federal Law for any drone pilot. The drone will be used in their search and rescue operations on Lake Conroe and in the nearby National Forest. Prior to this the constables only had limited sight distance from their boat on the lake. “This is especially true when they only have one aspect of the view compared to a bird’s eye view from overhead”, said Lt. Tim Cade. The drone can be launched from land or directly from the boat. It is just one more tool for the Constable’s Lake Division search and rescue initiative and is just one more tool that the Constable’s Lake Division is working with to provide a more effective response to the citizens and its visitors on Lake Conroe during those unfortunate times of crisis. As always Precinct 1 Lake Division works diligently to train its staff and to educate the public about the dangers that one might face while enjoying their time on the lake. Education of the public is a major goal that Constable Cash has tasked the lake division with, but the Constables years of experience tells him that education is not enough. There will always be times when tragedy will strike, and Constable Cash is committed to ensuring his lake division has had all the necessary tools and training to serve the community. Cash said, “all of us at Montgomery County Precinct `1 Constables Office would like to extend our appreciation to Mr. Yuna for doing his part for the community and helping us in reaching our commitment to the citizens and visitors of Precinct 1 by making our job a little more effective. Besides being based at David Wayne Hooks Airport, Drone Systems also has a storefront in Tomball at 14011 FM 2920. This is the corner of Business 249 and FM 2920 inside Tomball Pawn.
