Shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a possible child drowning off Hwy 146 and CR 2122 in Trinity River Lake Estates subdivision. LCSO units responded to the area along with North Liberty County and Hardin Fire Departments.
Officers were told reportees heard a child scream and then a splash from the river as though someone fell into the water. Officials canvassed the neighborhood and were unable to find anyone who heard or saw anything and nobody was unaccounted for.
With everything appearing to be normal, all units returned to service, relieved that it was a false alarm.
